Hi, Everyone
I hope everyone out there is doing well and will be able to enjoy the holiday weekend. I am planning to visit my oldest son, who's cooking dinner, and I'm looking forward to an enjoyable time with him.
Today my blog is about my home-based business. I am a retired Florist, and I enjoy working with my hands.
I grew up in The Bronx in New York City back in the 1950's thru the '70's.
A few years ago I started thinking about a fun tradition that was popular back in the 1950's to the late 60's..It was a fad called: Birthday Candy Corsages.
Each age, 5 thru 18, had it's own type of candy or adornment. For instance Age 13 was Bubble Gum, Age 8 was Peppermint, 12 was Tootsie rolls, etc. Do any of you remember them ,too?
I have started making these Vintage Style Candy Corsages a few months ago, and put them up for sale at my online shop, and I sell them locally as well. People who remember these corsages want to relive this tradition and have begun buying them for themselves, friends, and even grandchildren.
I also make Vintage Christmas corsages which was another fun tradition that I remember from my childhood.
I would like to invite everyone out there to come visit my online shop. If you want to see my shop, go to etsy.com Then once you are at the website, type in Artsyviolet and you will see some of my items.
Etsy.com is a website that provides a way for people like myself to showcase their crafts.
You will find Jewelry makers, Clothing makers, Artists, Glass Blowers, Doll Makers, and Crafters of every description who produce millions of beautiful, handmade items for sale. If you have never visited this site, I highly recommend you do so. You will be astounded by the amazing things you see there. Above I have included some pictures from my shop.
Hope You Enjoy
